Special Events Rental is proud to announce our participation in a new TV series called WEDDING DAY. It will premiered on June 16th, 2009 on TNT. Brought to you by Mark Burnett Productions and DreamWorks Television  along with the original Producers of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." Special Events lent our expertise to produce two amazing weddings for deserving couples in the Metro Detroit Area.

The Special Events Rental team worked with the stars of the show, celebrity-wedding planner Diann Valentine and food expert and celebrity-event planner Alan Dunn, to design two local weddings for deserving local couples. The episodes (102 and 107) are scheduled to air June 25 and July 18, respectively. Special Events helped ensure the most important day of each couple’s life was also the most magical – and in record time with only a few days to build each event.

“We were thrilled when show executives contacted Special Events Rental to help plan and design a wedding for Nyk and Janelle on Detroit’s Belle Isle,” says Larry Guitar, owner of Special Events Rental. “The theme called for a royal enchanted forest like in the fairytale Cinderella.”

The Special Events team, including sibling-owners Larry, Todd and Lisa Guitar, had only one month to fully plan and design a wedding fit for a Princess. Briefed with limited information about the Jones couple and few stats about their dream wedding, Special Events worked with the “Wedding Day” design team to create an event fit for Lady Di.

Jen and Shawn Locke dreamed of a fantasy Celtic wedding to compliment their Irish heritage. On the fifth episode of “Wedding Day,” and the second to feature Special Events Rental. The setting for this wedding was the new Westin Book Cadillac in Detroit. The Special Events team honed in on the couple’s Irish heritage using Irish cathedrals and the family tree as core design elements.

“We built a giant Irish church from scratch in the ballroom for the ceremony,” explained Guitar. “Our team designed family crests for both families, recreated the Celtic knot and made the tree of life out of stained glass windows.”
